We sailed, yes that’s the proper term even for a power boat, into Fairport early today to meet our good friends Ed and Sue Murphy.
We walked around town for a bit and soon discovered a little known fact, nothing opens until noon. That’s a real bummer when a crew of two meets friends for lunch and nothing is open. It’s just about enough to bring out the pirate in even the kindest of souls. Aarrr! Hunger is a powerful motivator! We eventually found food and ate a peaceful lunch. Note: no one was injured during the food ordering process.
We decided a boat ride was in order and proceeded to a place called Seven Story. It’s a craft brewery at Bushnell’s Basin on the Erie Canal, a very cool place. After some refreshments we continued to Pittsford for more refreshments because it was hot out. We met a small group of friends and shared stories of our travels in Europe. Fun conversations indeed! We made it back to Fairport just at the storm cell passed over head and we got soaked while docking the boat.
We went to the boaters facilities and took showers after Ed and Sue left to go home and are currently enjoying a little air conditioning. 🥶
